At MBS, our primary goal is to provide customers with state-of-the-art technology, maintain genuine partnerships, and offer superior knowledge of the textbook industry in an effort to simplify course material distribution for educational institutions. That's why we employ dedicated teams of customer service and sales representatives, and operations personnel to ensure each of our customers are offered the same attention to detail.

We are seeking a relationship-driven Account Manager to serve as the primary liaison between our schools and MBS Direct. In this role, you will support course material adoptions, oversee digital and print initiatives, address client inquiries, and ensure the timely execution of key operational tasks. The Account Manager will also be responsible for generating client reports, monitoring performance metrics, supporting digital platform initiatives, and identifying opportunities for growth through marketing and sales collaboration. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and dedicated to building strong client partnerships that drive satisfaction, retention, and long-term success.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with client schools, focusing on value, service, and long-term retention.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between partner schools and MBS Direct.

  • Support schools with book adoption research and course material selection, ensuring accurate and timely booklist management.

  • Collaborate with school partners to ensure all adoption and operational tasks are completed within required timelines.

  • Proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions for client concerns.

  • Generate and review client reports, sharing insights and performance metrics with key school contacts.

  • Maintain and track information related to school consignment inventory.

  • Conduct regular partnership reviews to discuss performance, current initiatives, and future opportunities.

  • Represent MBS Direct professionally in communications with publishers and external partners.

  • Support digital course material initiatives, including Inclusive Access, Easy Access, Learning Management Systems (LMS), Student Information Systems (SIS), eBook and courseware adoptions, Adoptions and Insights Portal, and VitalSource Manage.

  • Create and maintain client-specific reporting and run queries as needed.

  • Track backordered materials and digital delivery issues to identify trends and improve service.

  • Recommend course materials and identify opportunities to increase revenue through additional products and services.

  • Assist with marketing initiatives and campaigns within partner schools.

  • Additional responsibilities as required.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

  • Professional demeanor with strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of interacting confidently with clients, including executive-level contacts.

  • Interest in technology and modern teaching methods, with proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and general computer applications.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities, both independently and collaboratively, with excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and assignments simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and quality.

  • Reliable and punctual, demonstrating a consistent record of attendance.
